Students Accused of Making Fake IDs
From Times Wire Reports
Police arrested a UC San Diego student and his roommate Tuesday on suspicion of making and selling hundreds of fake California driver’s licenses.
Police say David James Klein, 21, and Gilbert Lazcano, 21, had a state seal hologram printer, a computer printer and a scanner in their University City apartment, which they used to make fake licenses that showed up in bars as far north as Lake Shasta. Police also found $8,800 in cash in the apartment.
The arrests followed a two-month, multi-agency undercover operation.
