To Spruce Up the Lawn, Soak and Fertilize Grass

Share

Warm-season lawn grasses such as Bermuda, St. Augustine and zoysia should be looking their best. If yours is not, give it a thorough soaking, then fertilize and water again. If it doesn’t green up in a few weeks, it may be time to replace the lawn (it won’t live forever) or have a professional lawn care company renovate it with power tools. This is a good month for either job.

“June drop” is the disturbing but natural tendency for fruit trees to thin themselves by dropping part of their crops. You will probably have to do additional thinning to keep fruit from touching and any overladen branches from breaking. Water only every three to four weeks to discourage fruit splitting.
