Re “Earth First! Pair Win Jury Award,” June 12: Along with the growing knowledge of U.S. government intelligence failures before Sept. 11, the evidence and verdict in the Earth First! trial prove decisively that the key to our security from terrorists lies not in surrendering our rights but in the government simply doing its job against real enemies, like Al Qaeda--not against American dissidents.
