Prying Eyes
Re “Missile Data to Be Kept Secret,” June 9: It’s nice to see, again, the hypocrisy of our elected leaders exposed. By refusing to release information about their pet (or should I say pork?) missile defense program, the Bush administration only looks more and more like it has something to hide.
When the administration hears protests from the public about the FBI’s new powers to invade our privacy, the response is generally: “If you don’t have anything to hide, then you shouldn’t be afraid of our scrutiny.” Well, Mr. Bush and Mr. Ashcroft, why are you afraid?
