DailyCandy Names Becker to CEO Post

* Adrienne Becker has been named chief executive of DailyCandy, an online community information Web site for Los Angeles, New York and London. She is a former senior vice president of operations for USA Networks’ Entertainment Group.

* Wells Fargo & Co. Vice Chairman and Chief Operating Officer Leslie S. Biller, the bank’s top executive in Los Angeles, said he will leave in October to pursue his longtime goal of becoming a chief executive.

No successor was named for Biller, 54, who was president of Norwest Corp. of Minneapolis when it acquired Wells in 1998, taking over its name and San Francisco headquarters. Chairman and Chief Executive Richard Kovacevich said Biller was a “driving force” behind the merger who stayed on loyally until the operations were integrated.

* Scott Garrett has joined Beckman Coulter Inc. as president of its clinical diagnostics division. He succeeds Albert Ziegler, who retired from the Fullerton-based medical devices company in April.

Garrett previously served as chief executive of Garrett Capital Advisors and as CEO of Kendro Laboratory Products.

* Bennett C. Beaudry has been promoted to chief operating officer of Newport Beach-based SM&A;, a competition management services firm. He previously served as vice president of the firm’s consulting services unit.

* Ryan L. Morelli and Stephen Aylsworth have joined JobPlex, an affiliate of executive search firm DHR International, as vice presidents in Los Angeles. Morelli was formerly with Morgan Stanley as vice president, investments. Aylsworth was previously with B. Riley as a trader.

* Patricia Diaz Dennis has been named senior vice president, general counsel and secretary for SBC Pacific Bell in Los Angeles. She succeeds Melanie Fannin, who retired in May. Dennis will oversee regional and labor litigation and arbitration, state regulatory issues and external affairs for SBC Pacific Bell/Nevada Bell.

* Los Angeles-based Adlink, a digital cable interconnection service company, has announced the resignation of Vicki Lins, senior vice president, marketing and communications. Lins will join Comcast Cable Advertising Sales as vice president, marketing and communications.

* Family media company Big Ideas Productions has hired veteran entertainment producer Gail Schenbaum as senior vice president of creative affairs in its Los Angeles office. The company also hired Karen DiNoto as vice president of creative affairs.

* Mark Einbund has been appointed first vice president at CB Richard Ellis, joining the retail team in the Beverly Hills/Century City office. He is a former senior vice president at Grubb & Ellis.
