* Clorox Co. confirmed that it expects strong profit growth of about 66% in its fiscal fourth quarter, based on strong sales growth in North America. Oakland-based Clorox expects earnings of 60 cents to 62 cents a share for the quarter, compared with analysts’ average forecast of 61 cents. Sales should rise by 5% to 6%, the company said.
* Osteometer MediTech Inc. said it received approval from the Food and Drug Administration to sell DexaCare, a tabletop bone-density meter designed for use by physicians. The company, a unit of Hawthorne-based OSI Systems Inc., said it expects to begin shipping the device in August for a price of about $25,000 to $30,000. It did not give an estimate of sales.
* Faucet maker Masco Corp. said it bought five window and plumbing parts makers, including closely held Newport Brass, a Santa Ana maker of plumbing products and bath accessories, for about $220 million in cash and stock. The other companies are based in Britain.
