After-School Program Should Be Replicated
Re “Pupils Develop ‘Habits of Heart’ During Skits,” June 9:
The after-school program mentioned in the article seemed like a great idea. This program will probably improve the character of the children and help them to develop necessary problem-solving techniques. This program would be even more beneficial if it were incorporated in the curriculum for all schools in the country.
This program would be more helpful for teens. Conflicts the young children were trying to solve seemed much too “adult” for children at that age. Small kids should not have to think about equal pay and job opportunities.
It seems like this program is going to make adults out of children too fast. I think this program should be introduced to children above the age of 12 and continued through high school.
