L.A.-Bound Flight Diverted to El Paso
An American Airlines flight bound for Los Angeles was diverted to El Paso after a passenger became unruly and had to be restrained by the crew and passengers, airline officials said.
“The passenger was acting erratically,” American Airlines spokesman John Hotard said. “He stood up, and he wouldn’t follow flight attendants’ instructions.”
Police said the man was placed in plastic handcuffs after being subdued. He still was combative when authorities arrived in El Paso and arrested him, according to police. He was later taken to a hospital for evaluation.
