From Times Staff and Wire Reports

A judge denied a defense motion to exclude evidence taken from the Santa Monica home of David Attias, the former university student charged with murder for allegedly running down and killing four people with his car in Isla Vista.

The ruling by Superior Court Judge Thomas Adams removes one of the last issues that threatened to delay the start of trial next month.

The former UC Santa Barbara freshman faces 13 felony counts.

He is being held without bail at County Jail.

He is accused of running down five people with his car, killing four, on Feb. 23, 2001.
