Talk-show host Oprah Winfrey will end her show after the 2005-06 television season after renewing her current contract for two years, the 20th anniversary of the program’s premiere in national syndication.

Winfrey’s current contract runs through the 2003-04 TV season. Viacom Inc.’s King World Productions unit, which distributes the program, renewed the show for an additional two years on seven ABC-owned stations in some of the show’s biggest markets, said Arthur Sando, a King World spokesman.

The show began in 1986 and is the top-rated syndicated program on TV, beating rivals including the “Jerry Springer Show.”
