TelePacific Raises $40 Million in Funds

Los Angeles-based broadband provider TelePacific Communications said it had raised $40million from new and existing investors. The company plans to use some of the funds to build a voice and data switching facility in Orange County and to hone its list of product offerings, which are targeted to businesses in California and Las Vegas. TelePacific also named former Nynex Chief Executive Dick Jalkut president and CEO. Jalkut, 57, succeeds Richard L. Kimsey, a former executive with Sprint PCS.
