Dave Hamrick, a one-time press secretary for former Rep. Newt Gingrich (R-Ga.), died Wednesday of an apparent heart attack after he collapsed while playing soccer. He was 51.

Marc Moreland, lead guitarist of the 1980s new wave band Wall of Voodoo, died Wednesday in France of complications from a liver transplant. Moreland, who grew up in West Covina, was 44.

R. Keith Walden, founder of Farmers Investment Co., the firm that supplies about 5% of the nation’s pecans, died March 11 after a short illness in Green Valley, Ariz. He was 88.
