Judge Finds No Conflict in Goodwin Murder Trial
A judge Monday refused to disqualify Orange County Dist. Atty. Tony Rackauckas from prosecuting the man charged with the 1988 slayings of racing promoter Mickey Thompson and his wife.
Attorneys for Michael Goodwin argued that Rackauckas’ dealings with Thompson’s sister, a longtime victim’s-rights activist, was a conflict of interest. Superior Court Judge Francisco Briseno disagreed.
