Council Delays Contract for Airport Service Firm

Complaints by food and beverage workers at Los Angeles International Airport that they have been denied breaks and are underpaid prompted a City Council committee Tuesday to delay a contract extension for their employer.
The council’s Commerce, Energy and Natural Resources Committee said it will not recommend approval of a 2 1/2-year contract extension for HMS Host Corp. until the firm revamps its grievance procedure.
