Suspect in Woman’s Rape Sought by Police
Police and a bloodhound searched unsuccessfully Wednesday for the man suspected of grabbing a 50-year-old woman at a bus stop and raping her in an alley.
Police said Christian Navaro Lopez, 19, attacked the woman about 11 p.m. Tuesday near the Ristorante Ferrantelli at Colegio Drive and Pacific Coast Highway, where he works as a dishwasher.
The victim grabbed her attacker’s wallet, police said, and on Wednesday charges were filed against the suspect.
Navaro is described as 5 feet 5 and 140 pounds, wearing a gray, long-sleeved sweatshirt and three-quarter-length Hawaiian shorts.
