Doughnut Truck Thieves Had Plan With Hole in It
Two people left a 15-mile trail of doughnuts after they took a Krispy Kreme truck from a parking lot in Slidell, La., police said.
The truck was at a store with its rear doors open and engine running, police spokesman Rob Callahan said.
Two people hopped in the truck and sped off, with doughnuts spilling out the back, he said. Police, responding to reports of a driver losing his doughnuts, spotted them. Passenger Rose Houk, 31, was caught, but the driver ran away.
Houk told police they had been smoking crack cocaine, Callahan said. “I don’t know if it was a need for transportation or if they just had the munchies,” he said of a motive.
