Chief Is Indicted Over Misuse of Police Funds

A grand jury has indicted the Arvin police chief for allegedly using Police Department money to buy a truck for his son.
Chief Rande Eighmy was arrested Tuesday in this small town south of Bakersfield.
Eighmy admitted that he cashed a check from a city account, spent $2,500 to buy a truck and kept $500 for himself, Kern County Assistant Dist. Atty. Stephen Tauzer said.
