‘No Problems’ for Chesney

Kenny Chesney’s “No Shoes, No Shirt, No Problems” entered the national album charts at No. 1 Wednesday, ending Ashanti’s three-week reign at the top.

The 32-year-old Tennessee native doesn’t have a high profile among pop fans, but he’s been a star in country music since the mid-’90s, thanks to the traditional country feel of such hits as “I Lost It” and “She Thinks My Tractor’s Sexy.” “No Shoes” sold 235,000 copies last week, easily topping Ashanti’s total of 143,000.

Three other new releases entered the national Top 20: the soundtrack for “Star Wars: Episode II Attack of the Clones” at No. 6, rapper Cee-Lo’s “Cee-Lo Green & His Perfect Imperfections” at No. 11, Wilco’s “Yankee Hotel Foxtrot” at No. 13 and Elvis Costello’s “When I Was Cruel” at No. 20. Joining Chesney, Ashanti and “Star Wars” in the Top 10 are, in order: Celine Dion, Sheryl Crow, the ninth volume of the “Now That’s What I Call Music” compilation, “The Scorpion King” soundtrack, the “O Brother, Where Art Thou?” soundtrack, Josh Groban and Pink.

The best-selling single remains ‘N Sync’s pairing with Nelly on “Girlfriend.”
