Yes? No!

Dean Paulos apparently participated in the excesses of the ‘70s, as little else could allow him to assert that Yes’ ascension to the top of the rock universe was done without hype and record label-generated publicity (Letters, April 28).

Granted, the band still survives on its signature sound, but there were plenty of magazine covers, meaningless chronicling of the band’s road-warrior exploits, and the de rigueur testosterone-filled quotes from its members during the band’s heyday. Or did Paulos write merely to remind us that another group of ‘70s rock gods has “returned to its roots” performing at the local pub, instead of a nearby stadium?
