* Federated Department Stores Inc. said it has terminated negotiations to sell its Fingerhut subsidiary to an investor group led by Minnesota businessman Peter Lytle, citing a “difficult economic environment.” Federated will try to sell parts of Fingerhut to third parties to preserve as many jobs as possible, Federated Vice Chairman Ron Tysoe said.
