Rep. Traficant Files for Reelection Bid

Rep. James A. Traficant Jr., the rogue Ohio Democrat threatened with expulsion from Congress after being convicted of bribery and corruption, filed official papers in his bid for reelection to the House as an independent in November.
Six Democrats and one Republican also are seeking the 17th District seat. Traficant is appealing his conviction in U.S. District Court in Cleveland last month on bribery and corruption charges.
