Agreement in Works to Build Veterans Home
From Times Staff Reports
With state funding for a veterans home in Ventura in the works, the City Council came one step closer to closing its end of the deal.
On Monday, the council approved six major points that will be part of the agreement with developer Archstone Communities. Archstone is donating 22 acres for the home to the city, which will in turn donate it to the state.
The deal requires Archstone to make $2.6 million in improvements and will allow the company to develop the remaining 43 acres of its parcel.
