Pilot, Passenger Die in Small-Plane Crash
A pilot and passenger were killed when their small airplane, going from Fullerton to Carson City, Nev., crashed Monday about 18 miles east of this small town near Yosemite National Park.
The occupants of the Cessna 210 Turbo aircraft were not immediately identified by the Tuolumne County coroner, nor was the cause of the crash immediately known. The crash ignited a small wildfire, which was quickly extinguished by U.S. Forest Service firefighters in the Ackerson Meadows area of the Stanislaus National Forest.
Weather conditions were good at the time, authorities said.
