Woman Cited in Attack Over Softball Awards

A 52-year-old woman allegedly choked her granddaughter’s softball coach at a team picnic. Coach Julie Lynn Worthen told police she was attacked Sunday at an end-of-the-season picnic for the 8- and 9-year-old girls on her team and their families.
Cheryl Hilliker allegedly got upset when her granddaughter did not win the most valuable player or other awards, police said.
Witnesses gave police conflicting accounts of what happened. Worthen placed Hilliker under citizen’s arrest, according to police, who issued Hilliker a citation.
