Officials Probe Theft of 700 Pounds of Dynamite

About 700 pounds of dynamite and detonators are missing from a mining site near Yreka, the Siskiyou County Sheriff’s Department said.
The FBI, Department of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms and Department of Justice have been alerted to the theft. The explosives are worth more than $6,000.
Richard Schweberl, who works at the mine, told officials the explosives had been secured with padlocks. A reward of $1,000 is being offered for information.
