Air France Adds Nonstops Between LAX and Paris
Air France last week expanded its nonstop flights between LAX and Paris’ Charles de Gaulle airport from 10 to 17 a week. It now offers service at least twice a day (three times a day on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday).
The change is especially significant because Air France is one of only two airlines that offer regular nonstops on the route. The other is Air Tahiti Nui, which this month began flying the route twice a week and will go to three times a week June 28.
American and United used to fly nonstop L.A. to Paris. American, which began the service in 1999, pulled it Sept. 30 after the terrorist attacks. United, which began the service in 2000, pulled it in early September, before the attacks, “because we didn’t get the business we wanted,” a spokesman said. Both airlines fly between LAX and Paris via other cities.
