Premier, Cabinet Fired After Ferry Disaster
From Times Wire Reports
President Abdoulaye Wade fired his prime minister and entire Cabinet -- a shake-up widely anticipated after a state-run ferry capsized Sept. 26, killing more than 1,000 people.
Wade gave no explanation for the firings in the decree dismissing Prime Minister Mame Madior Boye and the Cabinet. Boye had been the first woman to hold the premiership in Senegal. She will be replaced by Idrassa Seck.
