From Times Wire Reports

North Korea’s state-run radio reported for the first time that the country has nuclear arms, but South Korean officials doubted the report’s credibility.

Pyongyang Radio said the country “has come to have nuclear and other strong military weapons due to nuclear threats by U.S. imperialists,” according to the South’s Yonhap news agency, which monitors the North’s broadcasts.

Yonhap played down the report, noting it was not repeated or carried by the North’s English-language news agency. Yonhap said it was likely that the anchor erred or that the North was trying to sow confusion.
