Police Break Up Hindu March in Tense Gujarat
Hundreds of Hindu protesters were arrested as police broke up a banned rally in western India’s Gujarat state, where religious clashes have killed about 1,000 people this year.

The commission charged with holding elections in Gujarat next month had banned the rally, saying it could reignite tensions and affect the vote.
