Government Revises Report on Nuclear Arms

North Korea retracted a weekend radio report that had confused and alarmed its neighbors by appearing to confirm for the first time that it has nuclear arms.
In the retraction, the Korean Central Broadcasting Station stated that North Korea believed it was “entitled” to have nuclear arms. The initial report said the country “has come to have nuclear and other strong military weapons.”
