Stretched out to 870 yards for the first time last month, Bcr Get Bac Jac responded with a big performance in the Calyx Handicap.

A 3-year-old gelded son of Splash Bac, the California-bred won by two lengths and now will try for another victory against a tougher field in the $15,000 El Ocho Setenta Handicap tonight.

Owned by Billingsley Creek Ranch and S&L; Associates and trained by R.C. Howell, Bcr Get Bac Jac will be taking on a field that includes five other quarter horses and the talented appaloosa Hes Spotless.

Owned by Edward and Theresa Denike and trained by Patricia Visscher, Hes Spotless has won seven of 12 and gave He Doll a battle in an allowance race Nov. 3. He was beaten a half-length.

Rounding out the field are Azure Classic Star; Ferragamo, who finished third behind He Doll and Hes Spotless three weeks ago; Crocodile Hunter, Seeks Joy and Rail Skimmer.

Shots in the dark: Just Like Ryan could improve with a race under his belt in the fifth. Pecos Chicks had trouble and switches to Joe Badilla Jr. in the seventh.
