Rotary Club Gets $15,000 to Help Mexican Orphans
The Woodland Hills Rotary Club has received $15,000 from an anonymous donor to pay the electric bill for a year at a cash-strapped orphanage in Mexico supported by the club.
The gift was among several offers of money, supplies and services for Door of Faith, a residential facility for disabled and able-bodied abandoned children in La Mision, Baja California.
Offers of books, food and medical services have poured into the club’s Web site and voice mailbox since the Rotarians’ support of the orphanage was the subject of a Times article last month, said club President John Whitmore.
