With today’s Calendar and Health sections, the Los Angeles Times continues its changes in content and design.

Calendar expands to include the Southern California Living section, adding style, fashion and living to its arts and entertainment report. Among the new features will be New York, N.Y. by Geraldine Baum.

The Health section expands its coverage of fitness, behavior and nutrition, including new columns such as Bodywork, which looks at Southern California’s fitness culture, and Gear, which reviews new workout equipment and related gear.

Also new: broadened coverage of restaurant news, wine and spirits, and evaluations of kitchen equipment. On Thursday, Calendar Weekend gets a new look and a new focus, with 8 Days, a more comprehensive list of arts and leisure events, plus new sections called Going Out, Staying In and Alternatives, in addition to news and reviews.
