Terror Hearing Delayed Over Media Access

From Times Wire Reports

A federal judge delayed bail hearings for three suspected members of a terrorist cell while she decides whether to hold the hearings in secret.

Patrice Lumumba Ford was scheduled to appear in court Thursday in Portland, and Ahmed Ibrahim Bilal and Muhammad Bilal were to appear next week. They are among six people accused Oct. 4 of conspiring to wage war against the U.S. in Afghanistan.

On Tuesday, defense lawyers argued that the hearings, set for Nov. 14, should be closed because publicity has violated their clients’ privacy and tainted the jury pool.
