Hens Escape Hatchet as Activists Make a Cameo
From Times Wire Reports
Two hens escaped public execution during the performance of a play when animal rights activists stormed the stage in the southern German town of Wuerzburg.
The fowl were to be killed as part of “The Slaughter of Two Chickens” by German playwright Alf Poss, but the activists struck before any feathers flew. The play required the killing of two chickens per performance -- a total of 48 for the season.
