Ex-Officer Pleads No Contest in Rape Case
A former police officer arrested in April on suspicion of rape now faces no more than 30 days in jail under a plea bargain.
Jerry Cathey, 48, pleaded no contest Friday to four misdemeanors, including sexual battery, battery, burglary of a school building and furnishing marijuana to another person.
He was arrested while still an officer with the Paso Robles Police Department, on suspicion of raping a 21-year-old woman.
The woman assumed she had been raped while passed out at Cathey’s house, but detectives found no physical evidence of rape.
