Pure D Cool Is Back in the Spotlight Tonight

Share

The last time Pure D Cool tried 550 yards, the gelding was involved in a very exciting finish.

The 3-2 favorite in the Avison Handicap on June 30, the 4-year-old gelding wound up dead heating for the victory with Solar Dash with Diamond Cut Diamond another nose back in third.

Owned by Rancho Davalos and trained by Connie Hall, Pure D Cool is stretching to 550 again versus eight others in the $15,000 Long Beach Handicap tonight.

Solar Dash, who will be seeking his seventh win in 29 starts, is among those Pure D Cool will be facing, along with Old Easy Money and Nordick Only VM, the 2-3 finishers in a recent allowance race at tonight’s distance.

A 6-year-old gelding, Meddlin In Money is the 125-pound highweight and richest member of the field with more than $356,000 in career earnings, but he is winless in his last nine starts.

The picks: 1. Chicks Rich Badboy. 2. Top Elimator. 3. Red Hot Winds. 4. Under My Wing. 5. Jazhi Dotcom. 6. Adriannas Cruisin. 7. Dashin Mystery Man. 8. Cowboys Dontlookback. 9. Nordick Only VM.
