The National Assn. of Hispanic Real Estate Professionals will hold its second annual expo in San Diego this week, where agents, brokers, lenders and policymakers will share strategies for increasing Latino homeownership rates.
The conference, held at the Town and Country Hotel and Convention Center Tuesday through Friday, will feature guest speakers Henry Cisneros, former HUD secretary; and Freddie Mac Chairman Leland Brendsel, among others.
Participants will share ideas about how to break down language barriers and other obstacles that have deterred Latinos from buying homes.
“From the Hispanic viewpoint, homeownership helps us participate in society more fully,” said Gary Acosta, head of the National Assn. of Hispanic Real Estate Professionals. “And it is a great economic development vehicle. The effects can last for generations.”
