Tuscany With a Little Feng Shui
This Pacific Palisades home, originally built in 1980 on an acre-plus-sized promontory, was recently rebuilt by Gordon Gibson.
The Italian Mediterranean estate, in a gated community, was redecorated by Cissie Cooper, with the advice of masters from three schools of feng shui, the ancient Chinese practice of arranging rooms in ways that create harmony and balance.
As reported in the book “Feng Shui at Home” by Carol Soucek King, Cooper approached the owner with the idea of using feng shui in the renovation, but he rolled his eyes and told her to forget it. Two days later, he changed his mind after seeing New York real estate mogul Donald Trump rave about feng shui on CNN.
The owners took the advice of Cooper and the feng shui masters when selecting furnishings and antiques, which may remain in the home for an additional cost.
