28 Candidates Go Unchallenged on Ballot
From Times Staff Reports
Ventura County Clerk Richard D. Dean is asking the Board of Supervisors to appoint 28 candidates to elective offices because they have no challengers on the Nov. 5 ballot.
Elections for 13 special districts and councils are uncontested. Supervisors have the authority to appoint candidates to avoid the cost of holding an election, Dean said.
Supervisors will consider the request at their Tuesday meeting.
