Courteney Cox and David Arquette have listed their Westside home at just under $6.5 million. The husband-and-wife actors also have a beach retreat.
Cox Arquette has a passion for redoing houses and, now that she has completed work on their Westside home, she is ready to take on another one.
She started renovating and redecorating this house after buying it in 1996, the year that the first “Scream” movie was released. Both appeared in the film.
Built in 1949, the house has five bedrooms and 5.5 baths in about 5,200 square feet. The Bermuda plantation-style home, designed by John Byers, sits on about three-fourths of an acre, behind gates, with rolling lawns and a pool.
The house has a great room with soaring ceilings and large skylights, a master suite with a fireplace and a sitting area, and a detached guest suite and gym. There is also an outdoor living room called “an entertainer’s loggia.”
Cox Arquette, 38, co-starred in “Scream 2” (1997), “Scream 3” (2000) and “3000 Miles to Graceland” (2001). She is just starting her eighth season on the TV series “Friends.”
David Arquette, 31, also appeared in the “Scream” films and co-stars in the upcoming movie “The Grey Zone,” with Harvey Keitel and Mira Sorvino. He had a leading role in “Eight-Legged Freaks,” released in July.
He is in “Stealing Sinatra,” an upcoming Showtime movie based on the 1963 kidnapping of Frank Sinatra Jr., and he co-stars with Whoopi Goldberg in the Holiday NBC-TV movie “A Very Muppet Christmas.”

Bernie McCullough, star of “The Bernie Mac Show” comedy series on Fox and a nominee at tonight’s Emmy Awards, has leased a Hollywood Hills home for a year at $8,500 a month.
The comedian-actor, who was in the movie “Ocean’s Eleven” (2001) and co-starred in the Martin Lawrence-Danny DeVito film “What’s the Worst That Could Happen?” (2001), leased a gated villa with three bedrooms, three bathrooms, a motorcourt and a pool.
Built in the late ‘50s, the home also has city and valley views.
McCullough was featured in Spike Lee’s documentary film “The Original Kings of Comedy” (2000), based on a comedy act featuring McCullough along with comedians Steve Harvey, Cedric the Entertainer and D.L. Hughley.
In “The Bernie Mac Show,” McCullough, 45, plays a comedian who suddenly becomes the guardian of his sister’s three children. He’s due to play Bosley in “Charlie’s Angels 2” (2003).

Melissa Peterman, who plays a dental hygienist on WB’s “Reba” (starring country-music star Reba McEntire), and her husband, actor-writer John Brady, have become first-time home buyers with their purchase of a gated Spanish home in Silver Lake for $569,000.
The 1,400-square-foot house, built in 1936, has two bedrooms, 1.75 bathrooms, a living room with coved ceilings and hardwood floors, an outdoor fireplace, a pool and a spa. The house also has hand-painted tiles.
Peterman, now 31, made her film debut in the movie “Fargo” (1996). She and Brady are from St. Paul, Minn., where they have been active in theater. She will host a “Best of 15 Minutes of Fem” night Sept. 30 at the Chautauqua Theatre Alliance, 1625 N. Las Palmas, just south of Hollywood Boulevard.
Michael Caldwell of Housing Solutions, Los Feliz, represented the buyers; Reza Faraham and Tyler Giles of DBL Realtors had the listing.
Fess Parker, who played Daniel Boone and Davy Crockett on TV during the ‘50s and ‘60s and now owns a winery in the Santa Ynez Valley, and his wife, Marcy, had hardly listed their Montecito home earlier this month at $3.2 million when they got an all-cash, full-price offer.
The three-bedroom, Mediterranean-style home, in the gated community of Birnam Wood Golf Club, already has closed escrow.
The Parkers sold the house, which they had owned since 1998, because it was too much of a commute on a regular basis to their winery in Foxen Canyon and their country inn in Los Olivos.
They now plan to build a hacienda in their vineyard, said their real estate agent, Paul O’Keeffe of Joyce Gibb Realtors.
O’Keeffe had the listing with Daniel Encell of Prudential California Realty. Both are in Montecito.
Emilie McMinn of Village Properties, Montecito, represented the buyers, Montecito residents originally from the Santa Ynez Valley.
Producer Roger Birnbaum and his wife, Pamela, have purchased a Malibu home for just under $10 million.
The Nantucket-style home, built in 1999, has four bedrooms and six bathrooms in about 4,000 square feet. The kitchen opens to a porch on the beach. The library is also a projection room. The home has city and ocean views.
The producer was once the executive vice president of 20th Century Fox, where he oversaw production in the early ‘90s of such movies as “Home Alone,” “Die Hard 2,” “My Cousin Vinny” and “White Men Can’t Jump.”
In 1993, he joined Joe Roth’s new Caravan Pictures, which had a five-year, 25-picture deal with Disney. When Roth became chairman of Disney in 1993, Birnbaum became head of Caravan.
Now Birnbaum is co-chairman with Gary Barber of Spyglass Entertainment, and they are executive producers of a number of upcoming TV projects, including the series “Miracles,” due to premiere in January on ABC. Birnbaum and Barber founded Spyglass in 1998. Since then, they have produced such hit films as “The Sixth Sense.”
Adrienne Maloof-Nassif, an owner of the Sacramento Kings and the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas, has listed her Wilshire condo at just under $1.7 million.
Maloof-Nassif is selling her home of about five years because she recently married Dr. Paul Nassif, a Beverly Hills surgeon who owns the Holly Street Bar & Grill, an upscale Pasadena restaurant created a number of years ago in a former mortuary.
The couple, in their 30s, has purchased an 11,000-square-foot mansion with a tennis court off Mulholland Drive.
The condo is in The Wilshire, a 28-story, 96-unit tower built in 1991. Maloof-Nassif’s unit, which she redecorated, has two bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms in about 2,600 square feet.
The unit also has a steam shower, sunken tub and ocean-to-mountain views. The Wilshire has a gym, pool, sauna, security staff, concierge and valet parking.
Maloof-Nassif is the daughter of the late George and Colleen Maloof, former owners of the Houston Rockets. The family is known as owners of the Kings, the 17,300-seat Arco Arena in Sacramento and the Palms Casino Resort.
Nassif is a surgeon in facial plastic and reconstructive surgery.
His brother, Christopher Nassif, has the listing at Queen Anne Realty, Beverly Hills.
