Jury Recommends Life Sentence in Infant’s Death
A jury recommended Monday that a Sun Valley man be sentenced to life in prison without parole for sexually assaulting and beating to death his 3-month-old daughter in May 2000.
Ramon Garcia, 28, was convicted last week of first-degree murder, assault on a child causing death, sexual penetration with a foreign object and the special circumstance allegation of murder during the commission of a rape with a foreign object.
Garcia is due to be sentenced Oct. 8 by Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge Terry A. Green.
