Wine of the Week

You’d have to spend $100 for a major Bordeaux to do better than this California Bordeaux-style blend. The Titus estate, just north of St. Helena on the Silverado Trail, is run by brothers Eric and Phillip Titus, who split caring for the vineyard and the winemaking. The winemaking is as graceful as it gets. This wine has a little Petit Verdot, Merlot, Malbec and Cabernet Franc in the blend. It has a wonderful balance, bright luscious fruit and just a light touch of oak. The tannins are supple enough that you can drink this now or keep it around for a special occasion.

About $34. Available at Gerlach’s Liquor in Pasadena, (626) 799-1166; Grape Connection in San Diego, (619) 523-6441; Malibu Village Wines in Malibu, (310) 456-2924; Wally’s in West Los Angeles, (310) 475-0606; and Wine Exchange in Orange, (714) 974-1454.
