Chris Webber made a game-winning three-point basket with 4.6 seconds left, atoning for two missed free throws seconds earlier, and the Sacramento Kings defeated the Boston Celtics, 93-92, Friday night at Boston.

The Kings led by 19 points in the third quarter, but Boston used a 15-2 run to take the lead in the final minute thanks to 18 fourth-quarter points from Paul Pierce. Pierce finished with 40 points but missed a well-defended pull-up jumper at the buzzer that would have won it.

The Celtics could have clinched a playoff berth and a winning record with a victory.

Webber had missed two free throws with 14.4 seconds left and Sacramento trailing, 91-90. The Celtics got the rebound and passed the ball to J.R. Bremer, who was fouled.
