Military Kids Take Over White House Egg Event
From Times Wire Reports
Wide-eyed children from military families scampered over the White House’s South Lawn, towing parents from egg-pushing contests to close encounters with the Easter Bunny.
Lynne Cheney, wife of Vice President Dick Cheney, was the host of the scaled-down version of the annual Easter egg roll, which included about 12,000 parents and children. The occasion normally draws a crowd of about 40,000, but because of security concerns tickets were distributed through the Pentagon exclusively to military families.
