Tenet Adds Former Deloitte CEO to Board

Santa Barbara-based hospital chain Tenet Healthcare Corp. said Edward A. Kangas, 58, former chief executive of Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu, has been added to the company’s board.

Four of Tenet’s most senior board members are planning to step down, and by year’s end the company expects to have a 10-member board that is free of Tenet executives.

Investors have called for more independent oversight on Tenet’s board after more than half a dozen government probes were launched into the company’s past practices.
