Getting a kick out of corrupting kids

Share

WHAT a great money-making idea for Hollywood film executives Richard Brener and Mike Fleiss to cast a bunch of fame-hungry kids including “Alan, a shy 18-year-old ... who’s never had a drink much less a woman,” provide them with alcohol and encourage them to go crazy for their cameras! (“Reality Moves Up to the Big Time,” by Patrick Goldstein, April 22). As Brener opines, “Imagine the possibilities.” “Yes, he scores!” Fleiss cheers, comparing the kids’ activities to sporting events.

Plot-wise, Brener proudly states that if an 18-year-old kid is surrounded by nonstop drinkers, “you’re going to have something, whether he ends up drinking or not.” That “something” just might be venereal disease, AIDS, a baby or an abortion. Or did the producers provide “reality” condoms?

Who needs parents when we have film producers!
