From Times Wire Reports

President Bush honored the journalists who worked and died in Iraq, saying at the 89th annual White House Correspondents Assn. dinner that “we’ve seen the images of war more closely and vividly than ever before because of journalists who often shared in the dangers of war.”

Bush recalled the 13 journalists from around the world who died in Iraq -- focusing on Michael Kelly of Atlantic Monthly and David Bloom of NBC -- as a more somber tone replaced the joviality that usually pervades the gathering.
