Man Who Died in Custody Had Used Drug
From Staff and Wire Reports
A man who died in police custody after sprinting into U.S Highway 101 traffic last month had a potentially lethal dose of cocaine in his system at the time, a toxicology report shows.
Marin County Coroner Kenneth Holmes’ final determination on the cause of Bernard Anthony Curry’s death won’t come until next week, but “ultimately cocaine is going to play a role,” he said.
Curry struggled with officers who came to get him off the highway July 13, then collapsed after he was handcuffed.
