Catholics Protest Ruling That Church is Unsafe
From Times Staff Reports

The dispute began when city workers and sheriff’s deputies, saying the church was unsafe, interrupted a Sunday Mass on June 29 and ousted the priest and worshippers.
Afterward, city officials said church officials had made the building hazardous by removing a wall during remodeling and had ignored repeated warnings to vacate the structure.
